Elizabethton and Johnson City are larger
metropolitan areas, offering most
chain stores, and even a large shopping
center, the Mall at Johnson City. For those
who love antiques Elizabethton's historical
downtown area is the place to go. Downtown
provides a variety of antique and specialty
stores that satisfies all tastes. We
recommend having lunch at either the Coffee
& Co. or Red Chile. Afterward, a walk to the
covered bridge - built in 1882 - makes for a
relaxing day. The border of Western North
Carolina is also filled with great antique
stores. The TN and NC region is considered
an antique wonderland that is filled with
great antique stores. You'll want
to learn more about the renowned
antique shops found in Banner Elk NC, which is
a small mountain village located just over
the state border.
